Sacred Heart-Griffin is a Catholic, Dominican college preparatory high school that welcomes a diverse student population to pursue academic excellence within the Dominican values of study, prayer, service and community. The Dominican motto is Truth, which is pursued and supported by prayer, study, community and preaching.  Our program of academic excellence is the venue for faculty and students’ pursuit of Truth.

SHG has met the requirements established by the AdvancEd Commission and is accredited by the North Central Association on Accreditation and School Improvement. SHG’s curriculum includes nine advanced placement, eight dual credit and 35 honors courses.

The entire guidance department and our college counselor work diligently to assure that our students are actively involved in gaining acceptance to the college of their choice. We take pride in the fact that more than 97% of our graduates pursue their post-secondary education.

Just as the cross is at the center of our SHG logo, the SHG community wants Jesus to be the center of our lives. Community of faith is rooted not only in our Catholic, Christian life but in our Dominican tradition as well. The charism of the Dominican Order is preaching, supported by the four pillars of prayer, study, community and service. SHG students are noted for the service they provide to their community, parish and family. The Class of 2015 completed more than 31,760 hours of community service, and were offered more than $11.9 million in one-time and/or renewable merit scholarship opportunities.
