English IV - English Literature and Composition
This course offers a comprehensive survey of the major English literary periods, as well as works from
Classic Western Literature. Students are expectd to analyze literature through both class discussion and
well as a variety of writing assignments. A researched analysis essay is required for successful
completion of the course.
English IV - English Literature and Composition
This course offers an in-depth survey of representative writers from the major English literary periods, as
well as works from Classic Western Literature. Students are challenged to examine the literature through
extensive reading, class discussion, and critical writing. Two researched analysis essays and summer
reading are required for successful completion of the course.
English IV - Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition
Advanced Placement, a national, honors-level course sponsored by the College Board, focuses on the
student's ability to develop further those advanced analytical and writing skills previously demonstrated in
English III - 552. This survey of literature is extensive, and the literary selections vary from one year to the
next. This course is designed to replicate the college experience, and classes are conducted in a seminar
style. Students are required to take the AP Exam. Requirements of the course include two researched
analysis essays and summer reading.
