ENCORE MEMBERS AGREEMENT

Congratulations on being selected as a 2011-2012 Encore Singer!  With the privilege of being chosen

for Encore, comes certain responsibilities and commitments.  All Encore performers must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Academic eligibility will be applied to all Encore performers.   Students must stay out of grade trouble to have the blessings of their teachers for absences during the school day due to performances.
  • Performance schedules and rehearsals will be given as soon as dates are set.  School show dates are in the student planner.  Other engagements will be posted at school and on the website.  Usually, our shows are scheduled in the evenings, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., and they can be any day or night of the week.  Encore is the ambassador group for SHG.  It is the student’s responsibility to be where they are supposed to be, wearing what they are supposed to wear.  Failure to act in a mature, responsible manner will result in reviewing the standing of the student in the group.
  • All Encore students are responsible for their costumes.  Students should take good care of their shoes and costumes.  They are not to be left scattered in the music department.  At certain times, they should be laundered or dry-cleaned.
  • Attitude and cooperation are of utmost importance to the success of our group.  Therefore, the director shall reserve the right to use any discipline plan that is in the SHG handbook.  If a member has disrupted rehearsals or performances or the effectiveness of the director, they will be given a formal warning in writing.  A second warning will result in a conference with parents.  A third infraction will result in dismissal from the class.  Tardies to class will be treated in the same manner as all tardies in school.
  • Any Encore performer who is caught smoking, consuming alcoholic beverages, using illegal drugs or is currently being prosecuted by the law, (except for minor traffic violations) will be dismissed from the group immediately.
