Classroom Expectations
You are responsible for following both written and unwritten rules of conduct and behavior for ladies and gentlemen in a serious academic setting. Courtesy and respect for others are the keys to a pleasant and productive learning environment.
Grades
- Grades are calculated by dividing the number of points you earned by the number of points possible. Letter grades are assigned according to the school scale.
- Semester grades are calculated using the percentage grade from each quarter, not the letter grade.
Testing and Homework
- Tests and quizzes (except pop quizzes) will be announced in advance, both in class and on the internet.
- Tests must be taken by everyone who is in class - no exceptions
- Tests that will be missed due to a prearranged school-related absence will be taken before you leave. It is up to you to arrange this.
- Tests missed due to illness will be made up in class on the day you return.
- Tests and quizzes missed during an unexcused absence will be counted as zero
- Homework should be finished by the beginning of the period that it is due. Late homework will receive half credit if it is turned in by the beginning of the next class.
Cheating
- Don't. It is up to you to keep your mouth closed and your eyes on your own work during tests. You have been in school long enough to know how to avoid the appearance of cheating.
