SPANISH III HONORS
CREDIT: 1 (5.A grading) GRADE 11,12
PREREQUISITE: Spanish II, B or higher or Teacher’s written permission.

Level III Spanish goes beyond the basic mastery of grammar and vocabulary. It continues to emphasize the use of the Spanish language as a means of communication and emphasizes what the student is able to “do” with the language. Continuing to develop a strong foundation of vocabulary and structure the student is prepared to communicate in paragraphs rather than merely by means of sentences. Skills in reading and writing are strengthened, and knowledge and appreciations of Spanish culture is broadened by reading assignments and special projects.

REGLAS DE LA CLASE

  • Be in your seat before the bell rings.
  • Be prepared for class with all materials every day. (Bring your textbooks, workbook and planner every day!)
  • Follow directions the first time.
  • Remain in your seat until the bell rings. (No lining up at the door).
  • Be considerate of everyone in the classroom, including substitute teachers.
  • No food, drinks, candy or gum in the classroom.
  • Use the restroom between classes.

INSTRUCCIONES ESPECIALES

  • Late assignments will receive a zero but must be turned in.
  • Students will not be allowed to return to their lockers.
  • Keep all graded materials in your pocket folders. If there is a discrepancy in grades, you will have your papers to compare with my grades. I will keep all tests.
  • KEEP TRACK OF YOUR OWN GRADE. It will be explained the first day of class and will be your responsibility. (If you wish to discuss your grade – do so before or after school).
  • WHEN YOU ARE ABSENT IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET YOUR ASSIGNMENTS AND TO MAKE-UP YOUR WORK! You have as many days to make-up work as you were absent. Work will not be accepted after that time period.
  • If you will be gone on vacation please make arrangements in advance.
  • If you should be absent on the day of an oral dictation or pop-quiz, I reserve the right to not to allow make-up.
  • All tests will be taken on the required day if you were present the day the test was announced.
  • Homework will be collected and graded at random.
  • No talking during tests or quizzes.
  • NO CHEATING OR COPYING. Sharing homework and sharing test information with the next class is cheating! All books must be under your chairs during all tests and quizzes. Everyone must sit upright and keep your test answers covered as much as possible during all tests and quizzes. Using technology to translate or produce assignments is cheating and will result in a zero! This will be based on my opinion and will be irrevocable. Academic dishonesty is contrary to the philosophy of the school and our motto of “Veritas”. La verdad es esencial.
  • In the event that I am late or called away from class, you are expected to contact the office, remain in your seats and quietly review until the teacher returns. Each class will have a designated student in charge of notifying the office of any problems and to help out in case of an emergency.

IF YOU NEED HELP please schedule a meeting with me or come to my room before or after school. I will be available by appointment during my free period. You may also email me at: richardson@shg.org
