ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY
CREDIT: 1 (4.A grading) GRADE 11,12
PREREQUISITE: Biology-442, B- or higher or Biology-332, A- or higher
(each semester)
A study of the systems of the body, their locations, their functions, and their
relation to each other. Some discussion of pathology of systems is included.
Sports medicine will be covered with emphasis on injuries and fitness. This is a
laboratory course.

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY HONORS
CREDIT: 1 (5.A grading) GRADE 11,12
PREREQUISITE: Biology2, A- or higher or Biology Honors, grade B- or
higher (each semester)
A study of the systems of the body, their locations, their functions, and their
relations to each other are studied in detail. Sports medicine will be covered with
emphasis on injuries and fitness. Students will research and use computer
technology in exploring the body in health and disease. This course emphasizes
application and other higher order thinking skills. This is a laboratory course.

BOTANY (OFFERED EVEN-NUMBERED YEARS)
CREDIT: 0.5 (4.A grading) ONE SEMESTER GRADE 11,12
PREREQUISITE: Biology Basic, B or higher or Biology, C or higher
(each semester)
This is a laboratory course which includes a study of the general structure and
function of plant cells, tissues, and organs. Taxonomic principles, importance of
plant kingdom, relations of plants to their environment, economic uses of plants
will be investigated.

ZOOLOGY (OFFERED EVEN-NUMBERED YEARS)
CREDIT: 0.5 (4.A grading) ONE SEMESTER GRADE 11,12
PREREQUISITE: Biology Basicr, B or higher or Biology, C or higher
(each semester)
this is a laboratory course which includes the study of animals, animal structure,
physiology, identification, development, and environmental relationships to their
surroundings. Course includes extensive dissection ... PARTICIPATION IN DISSECTION IS REQUIRED.

CLASSROOM RULES AND GUIDLINES

1. All students are to be in their seats when the bell rings.

2. Bring all needed materials to class each day.

3. There is to be no talking when I am talking or when another student is responding.

4. Gum chewing is allowed in class, if disposed of properly.

5. Do not put trash in sinks or drawers.

6. Do not turn on water except when needed for labs.

7. No one is allowed in the cabinets or workroom without my permission.

8. Any damage done to classroom material will be paid for by the student.

9. Homework assignments are due at the beginning of class. Assignments received any other time will be considered late with a reduction in grade.

10. All assignments missed due to a vacation can be made up with the exception of labs.

11. There will be a test given over each chapter with at least 2 to 3 days notice before the test.

12. Quizes may be given with or without warning.

13. The tests will be a combination objective and short answer.

14. Quarter and semester grades will be determined by percentages.

15. Everyone is to participate in labs and clean up when finished.

16. Extra help can be obtained a half hour before school or a half hour after school.

17. If I am not here and a sub does not show up, someone should report this to the office.
