President's Message
Sacred Heart-Griffin is a Catholic, Dominican high school that welcomes a diverse student population to pursue academic excellence in a community of faith.
Generations: Pride in our Tradition, Faith in our Future. Our campaign slogan says so much about who we are! For more than a century, generations of Springfield area youth have benefitted from Catholic secondary education at Sacred Heart Academy, Cathedral Boys High School, Griffin High School and now at Sacred Heart-Griffin.
Since 1895, we have exhibited Pride in our Tradition of faith formation integrally woven with academic excellence to provide a premiere Catholic secondary education. Graduates of SHG and our legacy schools are Christian, Catholic leaders within our city, state and nation!
This is an exciting time for SHG as we proclaim Faith in our Future. This spring, all of our construction will be completed with the reopening of our newly renovated theatre in Dominican Hall, our new set shop and our new multi-purpose band room. The reopening of our West Campus building will be greeted with upgrades to the Jim Belz Gymnasium and our newly remodeled facilities: boys locker rooms, cafeteria, kitchen, restrooms, the multi-purpose/practice gymnasium, girls locker rooms, concession area and weight room. Our new partnership with St. John’s AthletiCare is exciting for our students and for the residents of Springfield and we are grateful and proud to have a new multi-sport complex at the northwest corner of West Campus.
All of these grand openings and celebrations declare that SHG is planning, with the grace of God, to be here to provide future generations of young people “academic excellence in a community of Faith.”
We are thankful that we now have the facilities to accommodate our outstanding academics, music and sports programs!
