Most Reverend Thomas John Paprocki

My dear brothers and sisters
in Christ,

Having spent more than twenty-five years in Catholic schools, from primary grades in Chicago to the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, I know the value of Catholic education. It helped make me the person I am today.

The tradition of strong faith formation and academic excellence continues today at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School. Along with a strong sports program, SHG has contributed to the development of well-rounded students who today serve this city in every capacity.

I offered a Mass of Thanksgiving, thanking God that SHG had reached a milestone in Phase One of the Generations Campaign to expand and improve Dominican Hall for performing arts and to upgrade facilities at West Campus. Today on both campuses we see the initial results of the construction and renovation and are pleased to say that it is time to launch Phase II, the construction of a new outdoor sports complex.

I am pleased to serve as an Honorary Chairman of the second phase of the Generations campaign and to encourage you to do all that you can to bring this undertaking to a successful conclusion. As we move forward, let us keep in mind Psalm 127, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.” When the project is completed we need to recall Psalm 115, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory.”

May God give us this grace. Amen.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Thomas John Paprocki
