A Well-Rounded Education
Today, SHG’s enrollment stands at approximately 800 young men and women. Each year, a large number of these students are successful in competition as National Merit Scholars, Illinois State Scholars, state-bound individual athletes and athletic teams as well as recipients of numerous awards in such disciplines as mathematics, science, language and the arts. More than 98% of SHG students pursue post-secondary education.
Our diverse curriculum offers students the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential while caring and knowledgeable teachers offer personalized attention. Courses for college level credit are available through our strong Advanced Placement Program, and honors courses are offered to students who excel. In addition, SHG offers classes for those who may need academic assistance in certain areas.
At SHG, we focus on the whole student and believe that service in our community is faith in action. More than 31,000 hours of community service was performed by the SHG class of 2010.
When our students graduate we’re confident that not only have we helped to shape their minds but also their spirits.
