Morning News Watch- 4/16- A 'mock accident scene at SH-G"
On April 16, 2010, SHG partnered with ThinkFirst (Southern Illinois University School of Medicine) to bring a crash re-enactment to our West Campus.
The focus of the event was on what can happen when young drivers get behind the wheel after drinking, or when teens choose to ride with impaired drivers. Those who assisted with the program were Springfield Police Department; Springfield Fire Department; Illinois State Police; America Ambulance, Lifestar Ambulance, and Medics First Ambulance; Sangamon County Coroner Susan Boone; Mary Kay Reed with ThinkFirst; Kirlin-Egan-Butler Funeral Home and Staab Funeral Home; Wiseman Salvage and Tuxhorn Towing; and students from the SHG Operation Teen Safe Driving program and SHG theater department.
