A Message
from the President
Families, Friends and Alumni -
As President of Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, I am reminded each day that SHG represents so much to so many throughout our community, our state, and across the nation. For Alumni of Sacred Heart Academy, Cathedral Boys High School, Griffin High School, and the more than 5,000 graduates of Sacred Heart-Griffin, this school is far more than an alma mater. It is one of the foundational influences in our lives.
As I reflect on the rich history of Sacred Heart-Griffin, I am filled with gratitude for the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, the Viatorian priests and brothers, and the dedicated lay faculty and staff whose faith, commitment, and love have shaped generations of students and families. Their legacy continues to inspire us each day.
I experienced firsthand the profound influence my teachers had on me during my years at Griffin High School. Their encouragement, guidance, and example helped shape the person I became. Years later, my wife and I were blessed to watch our three children walk the halls of SHG, and they, too, credit their Sacred Heart-Griffin experience with providing an outstanding foundation for success in college, their careers, and life.
Today, Sacred Heart-Griffin stands as a beacon of hope for families seeking an exceptional Catholic education. We are committed to providing a safe, faith-filled, and nurturing environment where every student is challenged academically, encouraged spiritually, and supported personally.
Our pursuit of excellence extends throughout every aspect of school life - from rigorous academics and meaningful faith formation to championship athletes, outstanding extracurricular opportunities, comprehensive counseling and educational support services, and the daily work of maintaining a welcoming campus. Every decision we make is guided by our mission and by our commitment to serving our students and families.
We also recognize the financial sacrifices many families make to provide a Catholic education for their children. That is why we remain committed to responsible fiscal stewardship, keeping tuition as affordable as possible while providing meaningful tuition assistance to families with demonstrated need. We firmly believe that a Sacred Heart-Griffin education should be within reach for every family that desires one.
Perhaps one of our greatest strengths is the partnership we share with our parents. Together, we strive to help every student reach his or her fullest potential - academically, spiritually, socially, and personally. When families and schools work together, extraordinary things happen.
It is truly a blessing to serve as president of Sacred Heart-Griffin High School. Each new school year brings renewed energy, fresh opportunities, and countless moments that remind me why this school is such a special place. I look forward to seeing our students in the hallways once again and witnessing another year of growth, achievement and faith.
To our parents, alumni, benefactors, and friends, thank you for believing in the mission of Sacred Heart-Griffin. Your prayers, generosity, and unwavering support make it possible for us to continue building upon the remarkable legacy entrusted to us. Together, we are preparing the next generation of faithful leaders, compassionate servants, and lifelong learners.
Thank you for being an important part of the Sacred Heart-Griffin family.
Go Cyclones!
