Transfer Students
"It's never to late to join our Cyclone Family!"
Sacred Heart-Griffin High School accepts transfer students each year. Transfer students from other high schools are typically considered for admission at the beginning of a semester, unless a family is moving into the Springfield area or circumstances warrant consideration at another time.
A screening process is used to ensure that the student’s previous school record and reason for transfer are consistent with SHG’s mission and goals.
To begin the transfer process, please complete the Transfer Student Application. Once the application is received, our Director of Admissions will be in contact to schedule a Transfer Meeting. Before enrollment can be finalized, the student and parent/guardian must attend a Transfer Meeting with the Principal, Director of Student and Family Services/Guidance, and Director of Admissions.
Students should submit their most recent transcripts with the application and may also bring a copy to the meeting.
Athletics Note: Due to Illinois High School Association (IHSA) eligibility rules, transfer students interested in participating in athletics are strongly encouraged to contact our Athletic Director, Bob Brenneisen, in advance to discuss eligibility requirements at 217-787-1595 ext. 104.
Please contact our Director of Admissions, Megan Cox at cox@shg.org or 217.787.1595 ext. 235 with any questions.
