Welcome to SHG!

Students of the Month

Maddy C.

Hi! My name is Maddy, and I am Senior. I’m the Publicist for NHS, I’m on the Senior Class Council, and I play softball. I plan on attending Illinois State next year and becoming a nurse. I am a Student Ambassador and love to decorate the school with all of your pictures! Outside of school, I work at a hair salon and babysit. I love to spend time with my family, hang out with my friends, and play with my dog, Tito! I cannot express how happy I am to be back in school. I am so thankful that SHG has worked so hard to give all of us the chance to stay in person. This year, I have taken the opportunity to be at school to get involved in new things that I normally would not try. I am very lucky to have teachers that support me in everything that I do and I am looking forward to finishing my Senior year off strong.

Alyssa C.

Hi, my name is Alyssa. I am a Junior here at SHG.  I enjoy reading, spending time with my friends, writing short stories, and playing with my Australian Labradoodle Winter.  I volunteer at my Parish, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, for childcare duties as needed and prior to COVID, I spent many hours volunteering at St. Aloysius concession stand for sporting events.   My favorite subjects this year at SHG have been Art, Campus Ministry, and Psychology.  I love the fact that each year I am introduced to amazing Teachers that not only provide us with knowledge but also inspire us to be better people.  We are truly blessed to be in a Catholic faith-based environment here at SHG, we are encouraged through daily examples and guidance from our Teachers, SHG Staff, and our incredible Priests to grow in our catholic faith.  I am proud of the fact that SHG has been able to achieve in-person learning for the majority of this school year, as this has allowed us to continue receiving the high level of education that we have come to expect as Cyclones.

Ashton B.

Hello my cyclone friends! My name is Ashton. I am a sophomore at Sacred Heart Griffin. I’ve played football and basketball for both of my years at SHG. In my spare time I love gaming, and I’m actually am pretty good - ask around. I also enjoy working on my craft in both my sports and try to get better everyday at them. A few things I like about SHG is our unity, this year truly showed how strong we are and how we can stay together and still continue to be friends and a community and continue being SHG. In all Sacred Heart Griffin really has helped me so much mentally and physically and has made me grow so much! My coaches and my teachers have left an impact, and I don’t think I would have gotten that anywhere else. In all, with all of these opportunities and outlets to improve myself, I’m reminded everyday how lucky I am too go to Sacred Heart Griffin. Thank you!

Grace K.
Hi! My name is Grace, and I am a Freshman here at Sacred Heart-Griffin. I am a part of the SHG Cheerleading team. Outside of school, I enjoy doing musicals, tumbling, baking, and spending time with my friends and family. This year has been full of many challenges, but the teachers and staff at SHG have put in the time and effort to make it as normal as possible. This school has taught me so much in just a semester, and I know I will be beyond well prepared for academics in the future. If SHG has taught me one thing this semester, it is to always have faith in God and trust in his plan, especially this unpredictable time. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to attend SHG and cannot wait to spend the next couple of years here.
