Sister Katherine O’Connor is a member of the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, IL and has served at SHG for thirteen years. She has been involved in education for over forty years. Sister has a B.A. from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, a M.Ed. from the University of Illinois in Champaign and a M.A. from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She is energized by being around our awesome SHG students and visiting with family and friends. She wants every student and staff member at SHG to know that they are passionately loved by God since this is an important foundation in her life.
Mrs. Rapacz graduated with her BA in Special Education from MacMurray College, MA in Teacher Leadership from University of Illinois at Springfield, and is ABD for her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago. She was hired as the SHG Learning Lab Coordinator in 2008 and moved into the position of assistant principal in 2013. In 2017, Mrs. Rapacz was appointed the first lay principal of Sacred Heart-Griffin High School. Married to her husband Chris since 2001 they have 3 children: Joseph (Class of '20), Emily (Class of '22), and Wyatt (current SHG Freshman, Class of ‘25.).
Mr. Brenneisen is a graduate of Millikin University and also received a Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois, Springfield. Mr. Brenneisen has been the Assistant Principal at SHG since 1998. Married to his wife Jane, with 7 children: Bobby (wife Kelsey), Becky (husband Evan), Jen, Laura, Tim, Matt, and Emily, all graduates of SHG. He also has 4 grandchildren: Jagger, Bronx, Brody, and Mia.
Mr. C has is in his 27th year at SHG. The first 14 as a math teacher and baseball coach and the last 13 as Dean of Students.
He enjoys spending time with family and the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Some professional highlights include becoming Dean and adding security for the safety of the students and staff.
Mrs. Seck graduated in 1999 with her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After graduation, she began working as a guidance counselor at SHG. In 2017, Mrs. Seck became the Director of Student and Family Services. Her responsibilities at SHG include serving as a member of the Administrative Team, Guidance Counselor for students with last names (O-Z), Co-Coordinator of Freshman Focus, School Wide Testing Day Coordinator, Dual Credit Coordinator and Sangamon CEO Liaison.
Mrs. Seck is a graduate of the first graduating class of Sacred Heart-Griffin (1989). In fact she is the third generation in her family to attend SHG. She is married to her husband Andy who graduated from the last class of Griffin High School (1988). Mrs. Seck and her husband have two daughters who attend SHG, Kayla (2019) and Grace (2022).
Mrs. Edison is serving her second year as Faculty Liaison. She has been involved in Catholic High School education for 40 years, serving as a theology teacher, Campus Minister, Volleyball coach and Athletic Director. She began teaching theology at SHG in 2000 and served as the Theology Department Chair from 2002-2020.
Mrs. Edison chose SHG because of the Dominican Sisters commitment to Gospel values. She received her BA in theology from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and MA in theology from the University of San Francisco, San Francisco, California.
Mrs. Edison and her husband Jim have a son named Josh who is a 2011 graduate of SHG.
