Students of the Month

Angela H.

Hi, my name is Angela, and I'm a senior here at Sacred Hears-Griffin. I've participated in Girls Swimming for four years, and was a captain this year. Over my four years at SHG, I've been a part of many different clubs these include: Key Club, French Club, Christmas Club, BRAVE Club, Science Olympiad, WYSE, and F.I.R.E Club. I'm also a member of the National Honors Society and French Honor Society. I work as a volunteer at compass, an after school program for students from Black Hawk. What I like most about SHG is the friendly community. I moved to Springfield my freshman year and didn't know anyone at SHG, but I was quickly accepted by the other students and made friends. I'm very thankful to SHG, for the education and friendships I've gained over the past four years of High School.  I'm planning to continue my education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where I'm planning on studying Biology and Wildlife management.

Camille A.

Hi! My name is Camille, and I am a junior here at SHG. I play soccer and tennis. I am part of math team and also science olympiad. I was recently elected Vice President of the executive board for next year, and I am so excited to be a part of student council for the 3rd year in a row! I like being a part of the community of SHG because the people here are so welcoming and friendly. SHG is like a small family, and I love being in that kind of environment everyday. SHG offers one of the best educations in the area, and I am very grateful that I have the opportunity to attend such an amazing school!

Addison B.

My name is Addison, and I am in 10th grade. I am on the track and the cross-country team, and also do club Volleyball at Shock Elite. I am the only one in my family to go to SHG, and the only one of my siblings to finish high-school in Illinois. The thing I like most about SHG is how everybody gets very excited for the sporting events and how you can talk to anybody. Also, the lunch here is amazing.

Hi, my name is Charles, and I am a freshman here at SHG. During my first year at SHG, I ran cross country, competed on the academic team, and I am currently on the tennis team. I am in Spanish Club, Key Club, and I am Secretary of the 2019-2020 Student Council. Last year, I graduated from Blessed Sacrament, and I am very thankful to continue my Catholic education at SHG. The best part about SHG is definitely the awesome teachers and administrators. They are always there to help me succeed now and in the future. I am also very blessed by the amazing students that I interact with everyday. They are so supportive and I have a blast going to school with them! This year has been great and I cannot wait for my upcoming years at SHG! Go Cyclones!
